24/10/21 An Alpine Garden is in the process of being created at the east end of the greenhouse. Hopefully, this will no longer be a part of the Laird’s Garden which is largely ignored by visitors. The Alpine Garden is the project of volunteer Matthew Gardiner but is being funded by the Friends. The site has been cleared of existing plants and is in the process of being built ready for a number and variety of Alpine plants.
Provided the peacocks don’t find the plants too much of tasty delicacy, by next Summer, this part of the gardens should be well worth a visit.
